Gujarat Education / World Bank announces Rs 35,000 crore assistance to improve the standard of education

To boost the education sector in Gujarat, the World Bank has announced Rs 3,500 crore.

 1.10 crore state primary school students will benefit

 40000 teachers will also benefit

 This amount will be spent to strengthen the foundation of primary schools in the state

 As a result, the assistance announced by the World Bank for the Accelerated Program (GOL) will benefit about 40,000 teachers and about 11 million students in 54,000 schools in the state.  Let me tell you that there is a long term partnership program between India and the World Bank to strengthen the foundation of public school education.

 Junaid Ahmed, director of the World Bank County, said investing in primary education is an important part of investing in India's human resource capital.  Through this program, the Government of Gujarat will strengthen the foundation of education at the district level, take care of the capacity of the appointees and teachers which will create a conducive environment for education.

 Gujarat has made significant progress in the school education system and has taken several steps for teacher training.  The dropout rate in Gujarat has also come down from 19 per cent in 2004-05 to 6 per cent in 2017-18.  Gujarat has created a decentralized management system at the district level.  Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement in the benefits of education.  At the national level, Kovid-19 led to a decline in adolescent education.  Kovid-19 has affected education in Gujarat and so the GOL program will focus on a number of improvements.

 An unprecedented event in Gujarat education

 A total of Rs.  7500 crore (Rs. 7,000 crore) is planned for the visionary project "Success Mission Excel for Excellence" to enable government primary schools and higher secondary schools in the state of Gujarat.  It will be funded by the World Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Central Government and State Government.

 On 2/4/20, 1, the World Bank approved the allocation of Government 500 million (Rs. 3700 crore) to the Education Department of the Government of Gujarat for "Missionary School Excel for Excellence".

 The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is in the final stages of an additional grant of Rs 250 million (Rs 1,800 crore) for the "Success of Excellence Mission" projects.

 This will result in a massive upgrade of 6,000 schools with more than 300 children in the first phase and 9,000 schools with more than 150 children in the second phase to a total of 15,000 large primary schools, which will directly benefit 4.2 million students.  .

 Under this project, the shortage of rooms in all schools will be met and subsidized schools will also be strengthened.

 The project will directly benefit approximately one crore students in the next to years and strengthen the education base.
