Sky Map turns your Android device into a window into the night sky.
Sky Map is a hand-held planetarium for your Android device. Use it to identify stars, planets, nebulae and more. Originally developed as Google Sky Map, it is now donated and open sourced.
Map does not move / picks up at the wrong place
Make sure you haven't switched to manual mode. Do you have a compass on your phone? If not, Sky Map cannot tell your orientation. Check it out here:
Try calibrating your compass by rotating it to the 8 speed figure or as described here
Is there a magnet or metal nearby that could interfere with the compass?
Try turning off "Magnetic correction" (in Settings) and see if it's more accurate.
Why isn't autolocation supported for my phone?
The way permissions work has changed in Android 6. You need to enable the location permission setting for Sky Map as described here

Try adjusting the sensor speed and damping (in the settings). We have a better solution coming soon!
Do I need internet connection?
No, but some functions (like manually entering your location) won't work without one. You must use GPS or enter latitude and longitude instead.
