RRR is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language period action drama film directed by S.S. Produced by Rajamouli and DVV Danaiya of DVV Entertainment. N. in the film. In it t. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris while Samutirkani, Ray Stevenson and Alison Dudi play supporting roles. It is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitaram Raju and Komaram Bhim, who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.
Rajamouli wrote the script of the film based on the original story written by KV Vijayendra Prasad. Rajamouli read stories about the events that took place in the lives of Rama Raju and Bhima and linked the coincidence between them. Thinking about how they could become friends during his early years inspired Rajamouli to make a film. Set in 1920, the conspiracy explores an indefinite period of their lives when both revolutionaries choose to go into oblivion before starting a fight for their country.
The film was formally announced in March 2018 and the main photography of the film started in November 2018 in Hyderabad. The film was shot extensively throughout India and with some scenes and in Ukraine and Bulgaria. The soundtrack and background score of the film is composed by MM Kiravani, with cinematography by KK Senthil Kumar and editing by A Shrikar Prasad. Sabu Cyril was the production designer of the film, while V. Srinivas Mohan supervised the visual effects of the film.
Built on a budget of ₹ 400 crore, the RRR was originally scheduled to be released on July 30, 2020, but was delayed due to production delays and subsequent Covid-19 epidemics. The film is now slated to release on October 13, 2021 in several languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada and also in international languages.
