India - The highest civilian awards in the country on January 26 in New Delhi are given in one of three categories, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.

The award is given in various activities / fields of art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.

Sometimes the exceptional and special service, the "Padma Bhushan" for the highest rank, and the "Padma Shri" award for distinguished service in any field are announced annually on the Republic Day (January 26).

The award is presented by the President of India in the National Program. The Rashtrapati Bhavan is held around March / April every year. This year, the President has allowed 141 Padma Awards, including 4 duo cases (the award is considered as one) as per the list below. 7 Padma Vibhushan, 16 Padma Bhushan and 188 Padma Shri Award.

Among the recipients of the award, women are 34 women and the list includes 18 persons from foreign / NRI / PIO / OCI and 12 posthumous category.
