Circular regarding action to be taken as per the notification of the Education Department regarding the amendment made in Rule No. 3 of Gujarat RTE Rules-2012

 R.T.E.  As per Act-2009, Gujarat RTE Rules-2012 is in force in the entire state.  The following changes have been made in Rule No. 03 (1) of Gujarat RTE Rules-2012 by the notification of the Education Department with reference.  Chapter-2: Right to Free and Compulsory Education 3. (1) On June 1 of the academic year, a child who has not reached the age of majority will not normally be admitted to primary school.

 During the academic year 2021, 2022 and 2023, any child who has completed 5 years of age on June 1 of that academic year will be eligible for admission in that year.

 The notification of the Department of Education regarding the said amendment has been sent by the letter showing reference-2.  The wise report from your level to all the primary schools under your jurisdiction.

 However, as the matter has been raised by many parents at the office here, it does not appear that the matter has been properly disseminated at the district level.  Therefore, it is reiterated that all the above mentioned primary schools will have to be notified immediately.  As well as advising parents that,

 If a parent wants to give pre-primary education to their child.  In view of the above notification of the Department of Education, the school will admit the child in pre-primary (Playgroup, Nursery, Jr.KG, Sr.KG) in such a way that when the child completes pre-primary education and takes action to get admission in standard-1.  In the academic year 2023-24, the age of 6 years is completed on 1st June.  Admission will not be possible if the school will give admission without considering the above declaration and in the academic year 2023-24 if the student who has completed pre-primary education and takes action to get admission in Std-1 will be less than 6 years of age on June 1.  .

 And that student will have to re-study primary education 1 year ago.  This will create an atmosphere of conflict with the guardian and the school as well as the office.

 In short, a child who has not completed the sixth year of age between June 2023-24 will not normally be admitted to Std-1 in elementary school.  Therefore, all primary schools under your jurisdiction are informed to take action as per the notification.
