What is e-PAN card | How to Make E-PAN or Download e-PAN Card
Through the instant e-PAN service, PAN number can be obtained by hand from the website of Income Tax Department. This service of Income Tax Department is completely free. E-PAN can also be applied from NSDL’s website now, in which only valid Aadhar card holders will be given e-PAN number.
Through the e-PAN Tatkal service, PAN number will be provided with immediate effect to those who need PAN number for other financial services. In this, e-PAN number will be issued for one time password on the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Here are two ways to get e-PAN:
1. Instant e-PAN, which will be available from the Income Tax website and only those people who already have a PAN No. Don’t be

Note – Initially only applicants who did not already have a PAN number could avail the e-PAN facility (from the Income Tax website) but now it has been extended to all existing PAN card holders. Step.1 Visit the NSDL website (www.onlineservices.nsdl.com), in the application type select “Changes or Correction in PAN data/Reprint of PAN Card” (if PAN number has already been issued to you given and want a new PAN card / e-PAN or want to make corrections) and fill in your details.
Step.2 Fill the rest of the information like name and date of birth etc. The information marked with an asterisk is to be compulsorily filled. It is mandatory to mention the email id in case of application for e-PAN card. A token number will be generated and it will also be sent to your email ID. Click on ‘Continue’ to continue with your application.
Step.3 A new page will appear on your screen. There will be three options asking you how you want to proceed with your application. To apply for e-PAN you have to select the question “Is a physical PAN required or not”? (As shown in the photo) (Please check mark here)
Step.4 Enter your details like Aadhar Number, Guardian Name etc. Aadhaar number is mandatory if you have opted for E-Sign and E-KYC as an option. Once you have filled in all the relevant data, click on ‘Next’. A new page will appear for you to fill the contact and other details.
Step.5 After filling it you will be asked for the document that you will submit as proof. If the document is not there or you have lost your PAN, then you should select ‘No Documents’. You will need to provide a declaration. Then you have to click on submit.
Step.6 You will be asked to recheck your application and you will be asked to make the payment. You can pay using your Debit or Credit Card, Net Banking. Once you make the payment, you will have to go through the Aadhaar authentication process. If your Aadhaar authentication process is successful, a 15 digit Acknowledgment Number will be generated.
You will receive e-PAN on your email after your application is processed.
Procedure of application for e-PAN Number online
Step-1. For this, by opening the Income Tax Department’s website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and clicking on the ‘Instant e-PAN’ link under the ‘Quick Links’ section. Read the instructions given here carefully and then click on “Apply Instant e-PAN” button, then on the page that opens read the guidelines related to ‘e-KYC’ and click on “Next” button.
Step-2. Now the online form for Aadhaar e-KYC will appear in front of you in which the details of the applicant and Aadhaar no. Fill and upload the scanned photograph of the signature. After final submission of e-PAN application, a 15 digit Acknowledgment Number will be generated and will be sent to the registered Mobile Number / Email ID.
Important points for Instant e-PAN Application:
Applicants who already have PAN number cannot apply for e-PAN on Income Tax website. This facility is on trial basis.
Applicant should have a valid and active mobile number which is linked with Aadhaar. Quantity Aadhaar OTP is required for verification in this process.
The benefit of the facility of e-PAN is only for resident individuals, this facility is not for companies, trusts etc.
