શિક્ષણનો અધિકાર ૨૦૦૯ કાયદાના અમલીકરણ અંતર્ગત ધોરણ ૬ થી ૮ ઉચ્ચ પ્રાથમિકમાં સમાવિષ્ટ થયેલ છે અને ધોરણ ૬ થી ૮ માટે વિષય શિક્ષકોની જોગવાઇ છે . સદર જોગવાઇ અનુસાર ભાષાઓ ( ગુજરાતી , હિન્દી , સંસ્કૃત , અંગ્રેજી ) , ગણિત - વિજ્ઞાન , અને સામાજિક વિજ્ઞાનના શિક્ષકોની નિમણુંક થાય છે . આ સાત વિષયો ઉપરાંત શારીરિક શિક્ષણ - યોગ , કલા શિક્ષણ અને કાર્યાનુભવ વિષય અંતર્ગત પણ શિક્ષણકાર્ય કરાવવાનું હોય છે .
ચાલુ વર્ષે અમલમાં આવેલા નવા અભ્યાસક્રમમાં દરેક વિષયની સમય ફાળવણી પણ કરવામાં આવી છે . આ સમય ફાળવણીને ધ્યાને લઇ ધોરણ ૬ થી ૮ માં દરેક વિષયના સાપ્તાહિક કેટલા તાસ રાખવા જોઇએ એ અંગે જીસીઇઆરટી કક્ષાએ પુખ્ત વિચારણા થયેલ છે . આ વિચારણાને અંતે નીચે મુજબની વ્યવસ્થા નક્કી કરવામાં આવે છે .
• ધોરણ ૬ થી ૮ ના કોઇ એક વર્ગની નમૂનાની તાસ ફાળવણી નીચે મુજબ છે

• ઉપરોક્ત તાસ ફાળવણી માર્ગદર્શન માટે આપેલી છે . વિષય શિક્ષકોના કાર્યભાર અને બાળકોની જરૂરિયાત મુજબ શાળાના મુખ્ય શિક્ષક એમાં ફેરફાર કરી શકે છે .
• ઉપરોક્ત તાસ ફાળવણી મુજબ એક વર્ગમાં ગણિત - વિજ્ઞાનના ( ૭ + ૭ ) ૧૪ તાસ થાય . એટલે કે ત્રણ વર્ગો હોય ત્યારે ગણિત - વિજ્ઞાનના શિક્ષકને ૪૨ તાસનો કાર્યભાર આવે .
• એક વર્ગમાં સામાજિક વિજ્ઞાનના ૬ તાસ લેખે ત્રણ વર્ગમાં કુલ ૧૮ તાસનો કાર્યભાર આવે . જ્યારે એક વર્ગમાં ભાષાના કુલ ( ૭૫ + ૬ + ૨ ) ૨૦ તાસ થાય તેથી ત્રણ વર્ગમાં ભાષા શિક્ષકનો કાર્યભાર ૬૦ તાસ થાય , જે શક્ય નથી .
• આમ , સામાજિક વિજ્ઞાનના શિક્ષકના ઓછા કાર્યભાર અને ભાષા શિક્ષકના વધુ કાર્યભારને સરભર કરવા માટે સામાજિક વિજ્ઞાનના શિક્ષકે અન્ય વિષય પૈકીના વિષયો પણ ભણાવવાના થાય છે . આ અન્ય વિષયોમાં ભાષાઓ , ગણિત - વિજ્ઞાન , અને શારીરિક શિક્ષણ , કાર્યાનુભવ , કલા શિક્ષણ પૈકી કોઇપણ વિષયનો સમાવેશ થઇ શકે છે . શાળાના મુખ્યશિક્ષકે શાળાની જરૂરિયાત અને સામાજિક વિજ્ઞાનના શિક્ષકની ક્ષમતાના આધારે તેમને અન્ય વિષયો ફાળવવાના રહેશે .
